This specialized kindergarten has a long year tradition. It had been established in 1960. It is located in a one-story obstacle-free building of Finnish type and it is surrounded by a large garden with wooden toys and “monkey-bars”. The kindergarten is visited by children 3 to 7 years of age with mental or physical, speech disable ness, health problems and also healthy children. The lower number of children in classes creates optimal conditions for individual work with the children.
        

Special care is secured by a team of specially trained teachers and speech therapy assistants.  A psychologist and physical methodologist in cooperation with SPC offer their services. The Parent´s Club is a major partner of the kindergarten since 1992 participating on organizing of various events for the children.

Special Pedagogic Center “Díte”

The special pedagogic center “Dite” had been established in 1992 at the kindergarten. The center focuses on special pedagogic and psychological treatment work with children and their families. We offer help to families with children since their birth till attending of a school and in accordance with the needs of the child and the possibilities of the families by providing an individual approach.

This club started to be formed after 1993 at the SPC “Dite” and became independent as a civil association in 1996. It is based on a self-help principle of parent organization. The mission of the club is to help families with children with the DS with the goal to help bring changes aiming at full integration of people with the DS into the society. The club offers several activities for children and their family members, issues its own newsletter, secures translation of special literature and cooperates with various organizations in the Czech Republic and abroad.

In cooperation with specialists the Club organizes the following support programs:

Love in hands – touch therapy for the youngest children, helps the mother accept a child with the DS.

Orofacial regulation therapy – rehabilitation technique aimed against specific problems of children with the DS

Feuerstein method of instrumental enrichment – stimulation program of the mental development
